Knysna N2 Bridge Jacking

Western Cape

Temporary works design to lift a live highway deck and replace its bearings. The halving joints made the lift sequence the whole problem. The answer was a tailored structural steel jacking system worked around them.

Senqu Bridge Launch Nose

Lesotho

Temporary works only. Pren's scope was the launch nose used to erect the deck, together with its connection detailing and bracing systems, measuring 10 m long by 5.5 m wide by 3.4 m high. The bridge itself was not his design.
